EMEA Q4 2017 highlights
EMEA only accounted for 23.4% of global IB revenue, about the same share as in 2016. US banks increased their share of the EMEA IB wallet to 37.2%, their highest annual share since 2001 (37.4%).
EMEA ECM revenue was up 52% to $3.7bn from $2.5bn in 2016, driven by a 78% increase in IPO revenue to $1.2bn ($689m in 2016).
IB – EMEA IB revenue was up 8% year-on-year to $19.0bn in 2017, boosted by the ECM market recovery
M&A – $5bn+ EMEA-targeted M&A deals stood at $395.8bn via 34 deals, the highest volume and activity since 2008 ($425.3bn via 38 deals)
ECM – EMEA follow-on activity reached a full year record high in 2017 (1,260 deals), exceeding the previous record of 2007
LevFin – European LevFin volume was up to $275.7bn in 2017 compared to $148.5bn in 2016
IG Loans – EMEA investment-grade (IG) loan volumes declined for a third consecutive year to $549.5bn, down 4% compared with 2016 and the lowest since 2012.
Deals – Landis & Gyr ($2.4bn) is the fourth largest EMEA tech IPO to price since 2000 – it completed successfully through the DealManager network. Investors used Dealogic Connect to place electronic orders securely to banks. Read more>>
